The
Prinz Eugen is a deluxe class hotel located in one of the diplomatic
quarters of Vienna, with easy access to the airport and other transportation
options. The hotel's location makes it ideal for the business and
diplomatic traveler, and the combined modern and baroque interior
houses a series of intimate conference facilities and elegant meeting
rooms. |
The hotel was renovated
between 1992 and 1996, and has soundproof windows opening onto private
balconies. The decor is a mixture of antiques, oriental rugs, and
some glitzy touches like glass walls with brass trim and adaptations
of crystal chandeliers. Suites are nothing more than slightly larger
double rooms with an additional bathroom. Bedrooms come in a wide
range of sizes, although all are comfortable with firm duvet-covered
beds. Safes and trouser presses in most rooms are extra amenities.
Bathrooms, although only fair in size, have hair dryers, are tiled,
and are well maintained, although 50 rooms have a shower unit only
(no tub baths). The single accommodations, however, are decidedly
small, suitable for one traveling light. The hotel does not have a
restaurant; however, a full breakfast is served each morning, and
a simple room service is available. The cozy, wood-paneled bar makes
for a relaxing libation. Amenities include room service, baby-sitting,
and laundry service.
     
In a section of Vienna favored by diplomats, this hotel is immediately
opposite the Belvedere Palace and the Südbahnhof rail station.
Subways will carry you quickly to the center of Vienna, and there
are good highway connections as well.
